Game of Thrones Season 7 DELAYED… because Winter really is coming this time!

The arrival of winter will cause Game of Thrones season seven to be delayed, the show's creators revealed on Tuesday.
We’re all used to seeing Game of Thrones make a triumphant return to our screens in April each year, but we could be looking more towards Summer 2017 before we see the seventh season hit our screens.

In an appearance on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, David Benioff and DB Weiss said production of the next season would be delayed in anticipation of some winter weather.

They said: “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot”.

At the moment, we’re not so sure how far filming has been pushed back as it’s not yet known how many of the episodes and scenes will need to be filmed in wintery weather. But, no doubt time will tell.
